Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Monday, 02 August 2010 15:29

The People’s Choice competition gives the public an opportunity to taste BBQ prepared by participating Stokin’ The Fire cook teams.

WHEN: Saturday, August 21st from 4:00-5:30 pm or until samples run out.

TASTING: All tasting will take place at each participating cook team site. Teams participating will be clearly marked.

VOTING: The public will vote by secret ballot.

Each person interested in participating will receive one voting ballot by making a suggested donation of $5.

Cook teams are divided into sections, which includes 10-11 teams per section. One ballot entitles an individual to vote once in each section. If a person wishes to vote in more than one section he/she will need to get another ballot, again at a suggested donation of $5.

After tasting the 10 or 11 teams’ bbq in a section, ballots should be turned in to the ballot box located in that section. The winner will be determined by which team receives the most votes.

The winners will receive $400, $200 and $100 prizes with the remaining funds going towards the Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark preservation effort.
